About BetterBench

Build a Better Bench.

BetterBench exists because the fitness and wellness industry deserves hiring tools designed for how it actually operates—not software borrowed from corporate recruiting.

The story

It started with the same conversation, over and over.

Owners and operators kept describing the same cycle: a great coach gives notice, the search starts from scratch, applications pile up, interviews get squeezed between classes, and the role gets filled by whoever is still available three weeks later.

Meanwhile, dozens of qualified professionals in the same market were looking for exactly that job—and nobody in the industry had a reliable way to connect the two.

BetterBench was built to close that gap: consistent screening, clear signals on who is strong and why, a talent network specific to this industry, and education that makes the people doing the hiring better at it.

Industry staffing challenges that inspired the platform

High turnover, part-time and shift-based roles, credential requirements, seasonal surges, and hiring managers whose primary job is running a floor—not recruiting.

The experience behind the product

BetterBench combines recruiting and talent-acquisition practice with hands-on fitness and wellness operations experience, so the workflow matches how studios actually run.

Connection to Raising the Bar
