BetterBench is a product owned and operated by Raising the Bar Consulting. This policy explains how Raising the Bar Consulting collects, uses, and protects information from employers and candidates through the BetterBench website, platform, and BetterBench Talent League, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Employer information: business details, user account information, job and requirement data, and the notes and decisions your team records in the platform.

Candidate information: profile details, résumés, credentials and certifications, career interests, Opportunity Status, screening responses, and any video interview submissions you choose to provide.

Usage information: device, browser, and interaction data collected to keep the service secure and improve how it performs.

Who is responsible for your information

Raising the Bar Consulting owns and operates BetterBench and is responsible for personal information collected through the BetterBench website, platform, and BetterBench Talent League.

How we use information

To operate the platform, including AI Screening, BenchMark scoring, Match Insights, pipeline management, My Bench, and the BetterBench Talent League.

To connect candidates with relevant employers based on role, location, credentials, and Opportunity Status.

To provide support, communicate about your account, and improve the product. We do not sell personal information.

AI and automated processing

AI Screening collects consistent responses and BenchMark ranks them against employer-stated requirements. Scores are decision support, not decisions. Raising the Bar Consulting does not use BetterBench to automatically reject candidates; employers review Top Matches and Match Insights and make all hiring decisions.

Text messaging (SMS) and your consent

Where you provide a mobile number and check the consent box, you agree to receive text messages from BetterBench (a product of Raising the Bar Consulting) at that number, including messages sent using an automated system. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of applying for a job, being considered for a role, or purchasing anything.

Message types include AI Screening questions and reminders, application and interview updates, account and security notices, and—if you opted in—occasional product or launch updates. Message frequency varies based on your activity. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message; reply HELP for assistance or email support@yourbetterbench.com. After you reply STOP we will send one confirmation message and then stop texting that number. Opting out of texts does not remove your account or stop email communication.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We record the date, time, and wording of the consent you agreed to so we can demonstrate how permission was given. Mobile numbers and text-message consent are never sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing; they are shared only with the messaging providers that deliver messages on our behalf.

Sharing

Candidate profiles are visible to verified employers using the BetterBench Talent League in accordance with the candidate's Opportunity Status and profile settings.

We use service providers for hosting, messaging, and analytics under contractual confidentiality and security obligations. We may disclose information when required by law.

Your choices and rights

Candidates can update or delete My Profile, change Opportunity Status, or request account deletion at any time.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information. Contact us to exercise those rights.

Data retention and security

We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, though no system is perfectly secure.
